MarLar has residential properties for long-term lease, primarily on the North Shore of Chicago. Recently the company completed a solar rehabbed home in Highland Park. This is the first solar rehab of five that is planned by MarLar. The company will also convert a house in Glencoe to geothermal heat and air conditioning.
“We are very excited to bring solar and geothermal systems to our homes,” said Larry Spatz, owner, MarLar Properties. “From an environmental standpoint, we like to know that our homes are making a positive impact on the environment. From a real estate investment standpoint, the systems help increase value and draw for renting or selling our homes.”
The company is owned by Mr. Spatz and his wife Marilee, who has a design degree from the Art Institute of Chicago.
Mr. Spatz also created The Solar and Green Energy Group, a consulting and solutions firm made up of a team consisting of a broker, contractor, designer, architect, two bankers, geothermal specialists, a solar expert and a solar panel manufacturer.
Spatz’s solar experience comes from being CEO of The Solar Electric Vehicle Company. The solar systems used by MarLar are off-grid and are used to help power the home during the day and night in addition as battery back up during power failures.
Mr. Spatz, through Spatz Holdings, also owns Small World Entertainment, Sun Health Technologies and founded Children of Heroes Foundation.
